Hi everyone,
I have been searching the posts and have found some material on how people have set up their power distribution for dual battery set-ups but not enough to answer all of my quetsions. I am interested in how people wire their vehicle and where they install fuse blocks aft of the firewall. I have read through many dual battery posts and have seen some information on this, but I don’t think there is a dedicated post on power distribution. Hopefully this will be of interest to others. So here are some observations and questions.

- There is a lot of information about people installing their fuse block in the back of the truck. I presume this is primarily for powering refrigerators. For those of you that have CBs, Ham radios and other accessories, do you mount a second fuse block in the front of the vehicle in addition to the one in the back? Just trying to understand if people put one fuse block in and then run wires from that throughout the vehicle or do you put fuse blocks close to your accessories.
- If you don’t install a front fuse block, are there spare circuits in the vehicle to add accessories such as CBs and Ham radios?
- If you mount multiple fuse blocks, do you run independent power wires through the firewall to each fuse block or do you daisy chain the rear fuse block from the front one?
- And finally there is grounding. There seems to be lots of opinions about how to ground the vehicle. The choices seem to be run the negative to a good chassis ground or run it back to the battery. From what I gather the ham radio experts say to ground back to the battery to minimize noise. Thoughts?
