Power Antenna Issue

Sorry for reviving old thread, but this one was closest I could find that has almost the needed information I need to solve my issue.

Yesterday I disassembled the housing in my power antenna unit to get the old broken plastic cord out from the housing. There I was happily cleaning all the insides of the housing as there was some water inside, when I noticed that the gear assembly in the centre can be dropped if the housing is rotated upside down. And it did, to concrete floor, magnet ring first (oops).

The magnet ring cracked to four pieces which flew to different sides of my garage floor. Getting the magnet ring back intact is the easy part, and now I get to my question:

Does anyone have a picture (or remembrance) from the gear assembly with the magnet ring from above? I'd like to know if this groove was originally facing the plastic gear, or outwards:

According to my guess this magnet ring generates current (or voltage? I'm a mechanical guy :D) to a coil in the sensor in the cover, and when the movement stops the current disappears and relay cuts off motor power. But I was not sure if the orientation of this magnet made any difference.

I am pretty sure the groove is facing the plastic gear according to shulerhl's photos, but with my luck the groove was exactly in that sector that's not visible in his photos.

Thanks for any help!

EDIT: All good, I tested the magnet ring with another magnet, and it seems to have 15 pole pairs and is symmetric between the two faces. Installed it and motor runs normally.

I opened my spare parts one and the notch goes towards the plastic. There is a small ridge in the plastic spool that the notch fits into that aligns the magnet...

Thanks for checking, perfect!

That makes sense, now I regret for not looking carefully enough. The magnet seemed to fit quite well even in random position with the notch toward the plastic, but perhaps it's not fully in contact if the ridge is not aligned with the notch.

I am still waiting for the new mast, I will need to check that magnet again if there are any issues at some point.
