Hi all, I'm new to the forum and I'm looking at buying a compressor for the sole purpose of painting. I've got standard 3 prong outlets in the garage and figure that it may be easier to just use my generator to power the unit rather than having someone come and put in a new circuit. But before buying anything I had a couple of questions.
Will my generator provide enough juice to run a 230v compressor? It's 10HP, 5250/6500 regular/surge watts, 120/240v, 60hz. http://www.amazon.com/Power-Back-250-Watt-Generator-GT5250-WK/dp/B000140B6S
Also, does it have the correct connectors? It's got 2 standard outlets, and one round 4 prong labeled 120/240.
Finally, is 12CFM @ 90PSI enough to paint with? If so, what's the lowest I can go? I would prefer to have a 115v, but I haven't seen any with CFM over 7.
Thanks!
