I just picked up a set of wheels that I want to have sandblasted and powder coated. Has anyone on here done this and, if so, who would you recommend for the job?

This guy in Mansfield (Kennedale?) did some tube doors for me a few years ago; it was a good job and held up really well with no chips or cracks:

Some of the guys in the Camaro Club I belong to have used TopKoat in Kennedale as well and say they do great work. Another good one is Quality Powder Coating in Carrollton.

Here are some other suggestions from the Camaro guys. These come from guys that have done high-end restorations.

Dane, also try Longhorn Powder Coating in Haltom City just off of 121 & Minnis - that's where I have taken all of my stuff. Lots of colors, great quality and cust satisfaction. I've mainly done semigloss on pulleys and brackets and have been very happy with results.

Also in the same neighborhood is Billmark Plating (2232 Solona St, Fort Worth, TX 76117) - so if you are looking at Bright Yellow Zinc (brake boosters, backing plates), Cad plating (nuts & bolts, latches, etc) go to them - good prices & good quality work as well.

I have used Burleson powder coating

Thanks for that; platers are getting harder and harder to find. I have some antique motorcycle parts I need to get stripped and re-plated.

I apologize in advance for the following thread hijack...

Whatcha working on? I love old motorcycles.

1947 Indian Chief. Bought it (as a basket case) from the grandson of the second owner. Almost everything is really straight, but a fair amount of rust - it was stored in a barn on Lake Conroe, near Houston.

Awesome. I want to see it sometime. I'd love to have something old enough to ride in the Cannonball someday. My daily ride is a 78 BMW.

Love those simple old R twins, though I've never owned one.

Probably the most-fun bike I've ever ridden was a 1929 Indian 101 Scout that I had the loan of for a day-long ride of the Fort Worth chapter AMCA. I really want to find one of those some day.

Second Quality.... They have done two sets of wheels for me. Good work and always ready on time, huge color selection

I'd like to see it too! My Pop had a 1940 Indian Chief. Beautiful bike. He rode it right up to the point Pearl Harbor was bombed and he sold it to go to war.

It's still in pieces right now, and not likely to make a ton of progress anytime soon - I'm in the slow process of clearing land, building a house, and prepping the existing house for sale. But sure, you're both welcome to see it now or later when it's done. If I remember to, I will take some photos of it next time I'm out in the shop.
