So I rented a property on Hip Camp out in Potrero (Stones throw from Tecate) for the weekend of September 28th. The propert is 540 acres and has a couple shooting spots some limited offroading and best of all no one else around! We invited the Overland Bound group so there will possibly be some new faces, but good people.

Right now I reserved for 6 people (maximum for the base rental fees $156) but its only $5 more per person, up to 56. So if we get 20 people it will only be around $11 per person for the weekend!

Here is the property with some pictures and a map

Looks good for me, just need to double check with the boss

That could be fun. Is this best adults only?

I left it open for anyone who wants to come including those with kids. I know a few families were interested in coming, so I didn't want to discriminate.

So here are a few pics of the Potrero Hip Camp spot. There is a larger flat area for a group up to 5 or 6 rigs and a smaller spot about 150 ft away were 2 rigs could set up. They both have views of Tecate and have a nice breeze (If you look closely you can see the Tecate Brewery), unfortunately there aren't many trees so it would be a good idea to bring your canopies. There are a couple shooting spots, one goes out over a the hill side and is perfect for shooting skeet. and there is an other site that we can shoot pistols and rifles up to about 100 yds (depending on how we set up).

There is a trail that runs through the property (East to West) and could be explored, I took it out about a mile and a half before I turned around, but I guess it goes all the way to Jacumba. There is an other trail that runs down a ravine through the middle of the property, but it is pretty narrow and has a steep section where I turned around, but will probably challenge it again when we go back out. There is only 1 or 2 places to do an about face and I wouldn't recommend doing it in a bigger rig unless you have a spotter and don't mind a few new pinstripes.

Overall I think it is really a cool spot and I think we can make the most of it with all the open area

I still have this trip on the calendar.

Cool! I'll prob come up one night, need to double check the work schedule. @Tylerh84 you off that weekend?

Would you have room for 2 rigs? just had a friend pick up a 2005 4runner. It's all stock but i think he would like to camp.
We have about 500 acres so I'm sure we can squeeze a few more rigs in! plus the more we have the cheaper the cost!

The entrance to the property is right off the 94 highway, about 2 1/2 miles past the turn off to Tecate

Once you enter the property you will come up the hill, take a right once you get to the intersection then take the trail when it splits off to the left and continue heading Southward until you come to the flat areas, where some of us should be setting up.

We will probably build a fire pit to hang out around, so if everyone can bring a little firewood, it would help out.

If only I had a brain...(rig)

Damn it... just ship it out!
