I am looking to buy my first Landcruiser. I have been looking for an 80s or 70s fj for the longest time, but this one came up in my hometown and i decided to give it a look. It is a 2001 with 212K miles. Minimal body rust, bottom of front fenders are the worst, no holes just bubbling paint, as well as other minor areas. Underneath it is typical ohio rust on the frame, nothing that i would worry about. The interior is in decent shape, everything seems to work just fine. There are two major issues with the car. When turning on the diff lock there is a weird grinding sound. I put the car into neutral, select to turn the diff lock on, and then when sliding into drive there is a major grinding sound and the car does not go anywhere. I dont know if there is a solenoid that is a culprit of if it could be something more serious. There is also a sound coming from the rear of the truck, I cant pin point exactly where it is but it sounds like a small air compressor that is running. I though it could be a fuel pump that is on its last leg, since it is in that area. But definitely a sound of some kind of air pump, nothing grinding or metal. There is no history on the car also. I added the link just for you to see the few photos that there are. I will be negotiating the price but I was looking to get some direction with this purchase or is it something that I should hold of and wait for another one.

Thanks!
