Guys, I need some pics and ideas of where to place my Propane tank set up for my M416. Can ya'll post some pics of yours. ALSO,
Can a propane tank be placed horizontally to work...would this affect the tank to work properly if it's horizontal???

The first step might be to visit an RV or camping trailer store and see what they stock for propane tanks. Get some ideas.

Thats actually part of the wheel well, fender, running board i guess you could say. It's sitting on top of the diamond plate and its held by the propane ring that is bolted to the side of the main cargo box. It has a quick release wing nut for easy moving or filling. The tank has a rubber seal that prevents it from rubbing on the diamond plate. It's a 2.5 gallon tank? (cant remember for sure, but last forever). I think Adventure trailer sells all of the components and the tank. Check with them. It came standard with our trailer.

I have one mounted on each side of my trailer, propane stove, grill, laterns, and future water heater and heater all adds up to me wanting to enjoy my time in the woods, not ration my propane! :D

Here is a few pics of my setup, there is one on each side of the trailer. It is essentially a metal ring that bolts together to clamp down on the propane bottle, it is insulated with rubber and the bottom of the tank lands on a "foot" that I can run another bolt/lock through.

Hope it helps.

That's it!

Drew...that is the best set up for my trailer. I had pictured two of those tanks on each side of the tail gate. WHERE did you get the heavy duty bracket. I know toolfetch.com has the kind like SOCAL's...but yours seems heavy duty. Where can I find one?

I built mine from scratch... not too hard. If you root around in my build up thread you can find them and a brief "how to" then in the last few pages you can see the "feet" I am refering to. Or you can pay me HUGE amounts of money and I will make you a set :D

They aren't hard to make if you have a welder and a vice. ;)

I bought brackets for the bigger tanks and then modified them to fit the smaller tank. Not too hard to do, just time consuming. I'm now going to slice the square mounting section, trim it down by like 1", then reweld it and paint the brackets, I want the propane tanks to be tucked in as close to the trailer's body as possible, and the aftermarket brackets I bought (same ones used by AT) mount them too far out for my trailer.

Any good welding shop can order you any size clam-shell style clamp you want. I had my local shop order me a few then, I decided to make my own. But they were only like 29 bucks each IIRC.

Maybe another option.

THIS (<---LINK) is what I was thinking of, but at $280 even on ebay (for a 12 gal), I will be looking at the RV wrecking yard first. I will probably go with a setup like Drew's.

See HERE (<---LINK) and HERE(<---LINK) for what he did. ( now I can find it when I'm ready to build my brackets).
