I am looking at getting a trailer that is 1000 miles
Away from home. Problem is the trailer does not
Have a spare and the wheels on my 1998 100 series
Don't fit the 6 lug pattern on the trailer.

I am trying to figure out what the best options are.
Should I just buy three wheels and tires to get it
Home or swap out the hub for a pattern that matches
The axle on my 100 series LC? Is that even possible or
Do you need a certain axle type to put on the 5 bolt 150 mm
Hub that would match 100 series cruiser. Not really sure I should buy
The trailer if I have to put a different axle on it.

Do most guys have separate tire and wheel type for trailer and
Truck or is it best to have all similiar so you can swap em around.

Thanks and sorry for long post for such an easy question.

Dude, can't you find something a little closer?.. Just kidding, lol.

Maybe give us a few more details? What kind of trailer (how heavy) is it and what kind axles/wheels/tires are on it already? I'm guessing you have current pictures? Does ANYTHING about the pictures make you think you'll have problems (neglect, damage) getting it home?

No problems getting it home. It is a built
Trailer and in great shape. Just has really
Large swamper tires that are much larger
Than what's on my rig.

I'd just get it home, checking that the current tires are properly inflated and torqued.

I'm thinking your 100 series use the same bolt pattern as the 80 series? If so, then you're most likely covered with a conversion hub. Assuming the new trailer uses the fairly common 3500 lb axle and the typical bearings spec-ed on those, you should be able to find a hub to match your 100 series wheels here:

It's not that big a deal to swap these onto the trailer, but it will be messy, so not sure you want to get into that 1000 miles from home.

It will be much cheaper to just buy a spare that matches the trailer. Changing from 6 lug over to 5 lug will cost you a lot of coin, not to mention it is a PITA.

wouldnt it just be easier to borrow a spare , im sure there has to be somebuddy near you that would have a match for it , then when you get it home you can deal with it,

I chose to run my trailers original military tires,
over replacing the axle and getting a hub to fit the tires and wheels that match up to my tow rig...

primary reason... I didn't want the expense of the axle conversion... purchase new tires/wheels etc.

another consideration was...

I wanted the trailer to be self contained, tow capable by any rig, regardless of what tires/wheels it or the tow rig might have.
