possible cv axle leak

Does this look normal to you guys? Both sides look about the same. I read somewhere that a little grease is ok but this looks like it might be excessive to me. Thanks for the help.

Looks like more than normal.

Options are to cut the clamps and squirt in an arbitrary amount of grease and replace the clamps with smooth, rolled edge, hose clamps or to re-boot complete.

If you think there could have been a lot of loss or water ingress you should re-boot. It's cheap and a good intro to servicing the front end of the LC. I would use the above mentioned hose clamps so you can adjust as the rubber softens to keep them sealed up.

Lots of write ups and pictures to be found on the removal of the cv shafts and re-greasing/re-booting.
