Bought this in AU years ago and I dont really need it. Installed it on my BJ70 to verify it fits as the adjuster bar clamp bolt is in a different location than the 70 alternator. I started it up to verify output and shut it off. Fits just fine on a BJ70. I dont have any way to verify it fits a 40 but I dont see why not. You may need a different length belt. This is the later style small body with small vac pump.

It is externally regulated. I can add or send other pictures. Has a few scratches but could easily clean up for someone's clean restoration.

what's the story on the new pump on the back side ?

I installed a used pump i had in order to install the alternator. It works well an can be included. The vacuum line union will not be included but i have others if needed
