interesting...they are asking for a few thousand in photo equip for trade, so maybe more than $1 but less than $6k???

FWIW i cant get 6500 for my 04 diesel 5speed jetta been trying ot sell for over a year now.... if that helps w/any kind of baseline....

Thanks for the info guys. If he still has it I will go and look at and give a report back. I am not a huge gear head, but I have a decent basic knowledge.
Thanks

way WAYYY too much.
tired engine, tired transmission, lots of rust.
3.5k rig.
cheers,
J

i wish that was a 3.5 rig...

when i tried to find a donor rig for a diesel swap into my 40 i couldnt find anything in any kind of rusty/lousy condition for 3k....

a running drivable rig is at least 5k

but the "extra stuff" all the 62 stuff is just usless crap isnt it?? i dint think 60 and 62 parts were easily interchanged???

Got one in Dallas

I have one a little closer if you are interested. PM and I can give you the details.

i cant believe i found exactly what i am looking for and cant get it... its just too far away from me 1985 Toyota Landcruiser Diesel (BJ60) plus extras

someone in the middle of the country needs to pick it up, get bored w/it and then let me come get it from them :D

I bought an ultra rusty '83 BJ60 for $2400 last summer. I mean rusty as in I could stand on the ground in the rear cargo area. And his dog was living in it, so that didn't help with the curb appeal either. The frame finally gave out and the guy decided to sell it. Talking to this guy, this one is pretty rusty and while he has parts to do a swap, I know of a couple other ones you could get without rust for that ball park money.

I disagree. A tired 3B is not worth much-rebuilding it will run you at 3k minimum. A tired H55 not either. The transfer will need a rebuild. The rust is substantial. If he offers another frame, you can assume the frame is toast too.

Extras: an auto that does not fit a 3B,a transfer that can NOT be doubled up, the cheap tie rods (50$ or so) that will wear out fast, a turbo manifold with a bad turbo that will NOT fit the 3B, and an intercooler that can be adjusted or not.

I maintain, 3.5k max.
cheers,
J

I agree this is a $3000 truck at best. There are a couple of people in the Portland area searching in Canada and bringing these trucks down they are all 1985 and older. Oregon must have easy DMV requirements for titles from Canada.
The frame rust is the biggest PITA... I am trying to swap mine now.
keep looking they are out there.

Its a bit high for a getting there 3B. I didn't notice anything being done that will need to be after it has hit such mileage like brakes, water pump, seals in the diff, transmission, and injectors possibly.

I quite honestly don't understand the appeal of a BJ60 for 5-7k asking price when you can hop into a well equipped HJ60 or better yet HJ61 for a low as 9k
