Portable sandblaster

I see many of these 'portable' blaster units with a large air can. Is it possible to use one without the compressor present and of course with proper mask??? I am a noob with these but eventually want to blast larger items than a cabinet will allow. Will they run off the air can pressure alone??

Sand blasters use enormous amounts of air. That portable air tank would only last a few seconds.

I was afraid of that..................can one buy a portable gas powered air compressor?

Of course. But renting one would be much cheaper. I'd rent the biggest one you could get.
