Just bought a high volume portable compressor from my local Pep Boys. I tried airing up the 235 tires on the van from 35 to 50 PSI - took about 35 seconds. Not too bad for a $60 air pump. The spec on the box says 70LPM, but the instruction inside listed the volume at only 50LPM at 40% duty cycle :confused:

They also carry the Master Flow Cyclone for $30, with the 30LPM @ 40% duty cycle and a lesser coil hose connector.

I have the Flow Master Tsunami MF1050, got it for $45 on sale at Pepboys. Takes about 2 minutes to pump a 295-75/16 from 20-35 psi, great pump for the money!

Try something more real-life.

How long would it take to air up from your rig's tires from 15 psi to 35 psi?

Do you remove the air filter before storing it in the carrying bag?

No, just ben shoving it in the bag, make sure to tie it down good, it would be a projectile in an accident. It has worked very well so far, 3 trips pumping up my 295s and my brother's 315s, plus a bunch of testing at the shop, quality unit for the money. This one looks good too;

I dont sell them, just a satisfied customer. I have raced a York and lost by one second airing up a 35" tire from 10PSI to 35 PSI. I own two. One for the tow rig, and one going into the 45LV :D

I was reading what George S. did with his compressor. Tucked under the body on top of a crossmember. I thought it was pretty slick. Is there a reason other people aren't going this route? I am curious as on board air is something I will be doing soon.

Ran it again this weekend, 4 x 295 and 4 x 315 from 20 to 40 PSI gets warm, but not hot and the smoke is still in it! :D

Another writeup on them;
