My cruiser keeps popping out of 1st gear. Sometimes when pops out with a very loud thump and toehr times very quietly. Seems to happen most when it is under stress such as starting out on an incline but it will happen on level ground from time to time. I have adjusted the push rod quite a bit in either direction but it still seems to happen. I suppose the push rod could be too short but this has not always been a problem. I have a sbc 350 mated to a 4 spd using the advance adapter bellhousing. Any suggestions?
