I have wanted a pop up canopy for a really long time. I seem to be always in the sun when working outside and one of these will help tone down my red neck. I bought one a Wal-Mart this weekend. It's a 9' x9' for $49 and the legs sit at an angle. My neighbor bought the same one and put his up before I even took mine out of the car. After seeing it in person I feel like returning it. It looked small and low. I don't mind spending a couple hundred bucks for a good one that will last. Any brand suggestions? How big is too big and too hard to carry around? 10' x 10'? The Wal-Mart one is not light.

My FIL bought a 10X10 at Wal-Mart several years ago trip for a beach trip we went on. He let me keep it afterward. It was on sale for $100. That thing has worked very well over the years and is holding up well.
That same pop up probably sells for less than $150 now, but I have not shopped them lately. I'm not sure of the name brand. E-Z-UP is one name brand, I think ours is called First-Up.
The packed dimensions are (about) 5' tall X 12"x12". It's not light weight either, approx. 40lbs. The good thing about is the bag it comes with has wheels on one end and a handle on the other.
You could try Bass Pro or REI for a different selection. I would probably stick to Wal-Mart though.
PS- And yes I get up this early every morning during the week.
