Stick your head behind the tire. Or if you have a really small head or a big lift you can stick it above the tire.

Look at the caliper. There will be a bolt on the top and the bottom of it. Check if they are both still there.

I had one walk out before. I had to take the 300D to search for it....and ya know what I found the freakin thing.

Update (sorta)

I forgot to look at the caliper bolts until the tow truck was on scene yesterday and loading it up. So no go there.

I also didn't have anyone available to turn the wheel while I looked underneath. Plus the sound happens only when driving, and it happens while I'm driving in a straight line. So I'm not sure that would've helped anyway.

Also, the hubs were not locked.

I did get some better views at the undercarriage though.

If it turns out that noise is just a flapping fenderwall thinger, I'm gonna be TEED OFF  (and kinda relieved)

Is this pin supposed to stick out like that?

Hopefully the Truckwerks guys will have some info for me soon.

Don't think you have to worry about that flap making a noise. Mine is hanging like yours and I have no sounds.

My guess would be a missing tension spring (if that's what it is called) for the brake pads. My in-laws took my 62 into the shop to get some brake work done while I was out of country, and the shop forgot to put those springs in. I get back, drive the car, and there was a constant clicking/popping from the front that sped up as I went faster. I held the brakes and the sound went away. Get off the brakes, and the sound comes back.

Korina,

I'll swing by TW to take another look at lunch today.

it's not the flappythingy, and not the pin.
My guess is it's not the tension spring either.

Im guessing between the birf, brakes, u-joint/driveline, flapper thingy, pin, tyres, axle, springs, shackle, steering, mind, etc that there's something going on...

It may also be the ugly blue shocks.

Good to hear it was something simple..Too bad you ended up with a towing fee to find out..
But it's better than it locking up on the 101:eek:

True true. It would've been less irksome if I hadn't already been through the towing / loose caliper bolt thing just 2 months ago.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
