A fellow cruiser owner (FJC and 40) and builder, BellyDoc (Jon), is a finalist for the essay contest on Pirate. If he wins he gets to pilot a buggy in the King of the Hammers Race.

You, the Pirate users, get to vote who will be the driver of Camo's Buggy #4407 in the 2010 Griffin King of the Hammers! In the original contest we had listed voting to begin January 1st 2010 and end February 1st 2010. We believe that this may leave the potential driver to little time to get time off work and make arrangements. So....VOTING WILL BEGIN TODAY! Voting will end January 25th giving the driver two weeks to make arrangements. As a reminder here is what's at stake:
The winner will be the driver of Camo's Buggy #4407 and have the full race support of MFS in the 2010 Griffin King of the Hammers. Lodging will be provided for the driver.
The winner will need to show up on the lake bed February 7th 2010 and be able to stay the entire week through February 13th 2010. The winner needs to bring their helmet and driving suit and any other safety equipment they should require. Bob Roggy will be the co-driver/navigator. The winner should be ready for the experience of a lifetime!
Anyone who has read his posts will agree that BellyDoc is an inspirational member of both fjcruiserforums and Pirate and richly deserves the opportunity. If that isn't motivation enough, the guy in second place is a jeeper
