35's ! I thought they looked big but maybe some sort of an illusion because of the 20 inch wheels . Is the ahc on H in that pic ? If so hows the clearance on N ? Also what kind of mileage is she getting with those ?

I will keep it as simple as possible.

The following members contributed to my lift:

Hoser
Landcruiserphil
Paddo

I have an 05 w/ AHC

I did a modified "hoser" lift in which I moved the AHC height sensors to there highest position. On the front I shortened the heim joint bolt as much as possible without cutting the bolt. On the rear I did Not fabicate a bracket.

What this does is it gives you an approximate 2 inch lift in "N" mode. While leveling out your stance (no rake - which I am a huge fan but some rake is necessary .5-1 inch ideal).

To compensate for the increased pressure on my suspension globes I added Slee's 30mm rear coil spring spacers as "Landcruiserphil" had recommended.

Then comes the tricky part of dialing it all in and this is where you really want to seek out "paddo" for his wealth of knowledge (he's the man.) as recommended I cranked my front torsion bars to get it back into factory pressure specs utilizing Techstream software.

So what I have is a 2 inch lift in N mode with the truck in factory specs with a factory comfort ride.

I also installed a Slee AHC override switch so that I can lock it in H mode for those 5x year when it actually leaves the pavement !! When I switch to "H" I obtain an additional 1" of lift but the ride becomes noticeably stiffer.

There are a few more things I did in the signature line but for now we should be good.

There is a lot more to it and as Sonk76 said to me "an AHC lift is not exactly bkack and white"

As for the 35's .. They are actually the 285/65r20 ko2 which bfg has listed as 34.5"

They will fit stock with minor rubbing on dips / bumps when turning.

Honestly the mpg for me didn't dramatically change as we do a boat load of highway driving and the bigger tires actually lower the rpm's at higher speeds (I think).

As far as acceleration this thing is as slow as it's always been. I've regeared previous trucks when I lived in UT. I would not regear this truck.. Just doesn't need it on the east coast.

The speedo is way off.

Got ya . Pretty much what I'm planning to do also but I just don't want truck to sit stinkbug. Bleeding and replacing the Ahc fluid was top priority as soon as I got it . Also prior to putting on the Arb I moved my front sensors approximately.125 and it yielded approximately.250 of lift to the front . Just testing the waters here . In the near future I plan on installing winch . At that time I will adjust fronts again to sit near level . Still need to purchase the techstream software and adjust tb's accordingly . Will do rear spacers too if need be .

Oh yeah also planning on doing the slee Ahc over ride as well .

Sweet pics!

Sounds like your on the right path. When adding a winch and adjusting the tb's you may find the ride quality to suffer (may need to swap over to non AHC torsion bars but I would consult others with more experience on that)

If doing a rear bumper / swing out skip the spacers and go with 80 series rear springs. If staying with the stock bumper i would go with new AHC springs plus spacers (I should have)

Just my 2 cents.

I dug up a few crappy pics to reference no lift vs level lift vs slight rake. I will pm you as to not crowd your thread.

No plans for rear bumper at this time . I will consider new Ahc springs as well if need be . Just want my truck to have the proper rake with the added weight to the front without the ride suffering . Plus I want my Ahc system operating at its full potential being I have no plans or wishes to ditch it for a conventional suspension.
