Are there any fun little places to go 4wheeling around Raleigh? I went out to the power lines off Page Road and 40 last weekend and it was pretty good stuff, but wondering other little places to go. I'm not quite ready to make the road trip to Uwarrie (sp?) so I"m just looking for places around town even if they are pretty short.

Any ideas?

Also I was so bummed I missed the meet up you guys had at Tylers'. i would have come for sure because I want to meet you guys / figure out how to get involved / part of the club. If someone can point me in the right direction on how to get signed up please do so. I sent a few emails in the past, but not sure where they went / did not get a response.

Michael,
Here is the registration information:

Go to “PAYPAL” sign up for an account and pay using our e-mail address below:

Right now the club e-mail address is “oldenorthstate@hotmail.com”

You will need to put in the description the following:

1) Who you are paying for

2) Type of membership

MEMBERSHIP DUES for 2010 have been increased based on a general vote at the meeting, dues will be as follows:
Single member yearly: $35
Family yearly: $50
Life Time Single: $200
Life Time Family: $300
10 Year Single: $100
10 Year Family: $175
We are also incorporating Jr. Memberships and Student Memberships for those that are interested in 2010
Junior/Student Membership = $20

REMINDER: Founding Members this is the 3rd year of your Founding Membership Deal. Renewals will be required in 2011.

3) Then put an address so we can update our records.

4) TLCA Number and Expiration, if you don't have one, please note you yould like more information.

The club will also take donations using paypal as well as use it as a way to pay for t-shirts we make and advance payment options to events and expenses. Once Joe has all the information about paypal he can add it to our website as a button. Which makes things even easier as it allows us to do yearly dues reminders.

This late in the year, I would recommend just coming to an event before you join, just so we can discuss it since it so late in the year.

As far as Raleigh wheeling goes, as a club, we strongly discourage anything that constitutes trespassing, especially if your vehicle has an ONSC sticker on it :) Uwharrie is a pretty short haul and well worth it for a day trip or whatever. Be sure and check out our thread on "September 2011 Event: Cruisin' Carolina". It's not too late to get in on that for next weekend and I think there is going to be a great crowd and some cool raffles!!!

Thanks for the club info. I'll try to make it to an event (if close to Raleigh as I don't drive the Cruiser on long trips -yet)

I understand what you mean about trespassing, I try to be smart about it and definitely don't tear through gates / ignore signs. For me though, if it is an open dirt road off a public road with no indications of "we don't want anyone back here" I will go explore.

Hope to meet some of you down the road.
