Things I need to do to my cruiser before Pismo:
1. Get front drive shaft back on.
2. Clean up my soft top rails.
3. Put soft top on
4. Remount my electric fan to try to get better cooling.
5. Paint doors.
6. Get plastic clip for distrub, so i can hook up my tack.
7. Get 12v to 5v resistor, so I can hook up my Speedo
8. Mount, Rear kc light, undercarrige lights, engine bay light, interior light.

Possible attempt to help out a friend:
Attack my friend's jf40 to try to make it driveable to pismo...??(not sure what is wrong with it after it spent a night submerged under the sea, down in mexico. He's done the fluids several times, and has had it power blasted with wd40 a few times, but I am guessing all the electrical is shot. Might just have to do a life support wiring harness for him, as I will not let him sit in the back of mine for the drive up there. Or, figure out what is wrong with his pig.........:censor:)

I still got some weird heating issues going on with mine so I think we are going to take my roommates 80 up there.

1. Buy food and pack.
2. GO

...I ain't driving a 40 series if you can tell from my extensive to do list. Luxoboat FZJ80 baby!

I'll second Brent's list.
I'm not driving the 40, either.
Can you say Winnebago?:flipoff2:

Oh, and we gotta go on vacation next week to AZ, to flex out the new suspension. :flipoff2::flipoff2:

Now that you mention it, I might see how good the motorhome will 4X.

Shane-

I'm going to try to get a few things done too. Headlight relays being one of them. I printed out a schematic and bought all the parts a while back and now... who knows where that s*** is in the garage. I'll try to dig it up tonight.

How's the list coming along?

I'll be leaving from work Friday am to Santa Barbara then heading into Pismo that night. We should connect on who's going and who'll be there first. Maybe we could have the first to arrive post a large flag for ID.

Let me know what you guys think.

Planning on going but not sure exactly when we are going to leave. Might go to AFI Fest in LA for a couple days on the way up.

Things I need to do to my cruiser before Pismo:
1. Get front drive shaft back on.
Tomorrow
2. Clean up my soft top rails.
Put them on as is tomorrow
3. Put soft top on
Tomorrow
4. Remount my electric fan to try to get better cooling.
Changed out my water pump to a hi flow version.
Changed thermostat to a hi flow version.
Got Ford Torris fan from junkyard and mounted it.
Got New Jet Fan Switch, which turns on at 210 an
off at 200(should be on at 195 and off at 185). Back to the adjustable Fan Switch which has a probe that sticks in the top of the return radiator hose.
Excellent results.

5. Paint doors.
Put them on as is tomorrow

6. Get plastic clip for distrub, so i can hook up my tack.
Done

7. Get 12v to 5v resistor, so I can hook up my Speedo
Dune, but fried my VSS with 12volts before I knew better.
Going groveling at heep dealer ship for a new one.

8. Mount, Rear kc light, undercarrige lights, engine bay light, interior light.
Rear - done
Not doing undercarrige ones right now.
Skip engine bay light, and interior light.

Cheep as Summit Brand alt fired it's self out the other day. Changed
with a (I hope) more quality one, that kicks out 140amps

Dude took care of it on his own and is going. sweet.
He got his fj40 in running condition. IT's holding up very
well. Most likely will strip it down next year, and balast the thing.

Consider myself lucky as this is the first time I have tired to put on the soft top, after the roll cage install.

It just all fits nice and snug. I was stressen a bit today, but it all worked out nicely.

getting excited for Pismo. :bounce:

This back bar was a worry as I put on the top today, but worked out ok. The back bar is a bit more to the rear then most MT family cages I have seen here on mud, but I wanted it as far back as possible.

Pismo Prep done today:

Front Drive shaft on.
Truck Waxed.
Off camber carb fix https://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-series-tech/249108-edelbrock-carb-off-camber-fix.html
Interior Cleaned. Took out lots of SD beach sand. So I can replace with Pismo beach sand.
Camping Tent / sleeping bags / air mat checked.
Hi lift mounted.
Family Cage Bikini Top Cleaned, 303ed and put away for next summer.

Hard to believe that took me all day.

New list:
Get Car Port broken down and to Matt to pack on top of his 40 to hall up.
Reinstall Heater
Hook up windshield wipers.
Still trying to get speedo hooked up.
Costco for beer and food.
Auto parts store for extra fuses.
Pack up took kit.

Got super excited after checking out Doms rig last night... got me into the Pismo state of mind.
:steer:
