Hi there all

Seeking the forums help - I have been reconsidering keeping the old BJ73 and restoring/modifying/rebuilding it into my new toy.

Its worth minmal to sell, I own it and its only a second car:

I am after some pictures or ideas of other BJ73' - 4' to try and intice my creative mind. I am not really intersted in a full off road machine - but a nice presented, lift kit ,soft top etc - sort of a beach toy.

Any idea will be greatfully eppreciated:

Mine ran 6 inches of lift, front and rear lockers and 33x12.5 coopers STT's. Made it look the part :)

Also had Rhino commercial roofracks with 6 spotlights mounted across the front on the special brackets rhino makes (modified to mount eh spotlights further forward), an aluminium roofrack tray and the stock rear tyre carrier (which fits a 33x12.5!!!). Er, they were on American Racing rims too.. 15x8 inches. And it was red on white.

Looked good!!, you can check it out on the thread entitled "My new toy" if you search my posts in this forum. Some of the photos are a little older.

All you need is the right tyres,a good compressor and locked diffs for the beach.
Putting a soft top on would be fun and save some weight.
I might get the springs reset with a bigger arch and a leaf taken out.

Having huge amounts of clearance and articulation is not real important in soft sand unless you have monster tyres and then you will need lower ratio diffs and maybe something more lively than a 2H.

To get the best results change one thing at a time ,when it works move forward;).

Near as I can tell, the best thing you can do is sell it to me for a less-than-reasonable price!
Good luck with your truck!

Hi Tapage,

No I don't have rear SO and front SU it's just an efect of the pic and if it were the case there would be a larger difference.

:o)

maybe with pretty arches springs in front and just flats in rear .. ? :D no problem dude ..
