I highly recommend this setup to anyone. Took a little innovation to make it work but all in all it was easy. It sounds great especially for the price.

I made some 1/4" birchwood backings to support the 6x9's. They are mounted vertical like that because they dont fit the other way. Wish I had pics during the middle of the install but I finally got my camera back.

I ran new 14g wire to all speakers. I abandoned the existing harness and ran a new constant 12v, 12v Accessory, and ground. For the constant 12v I tapped into the 12v that goes into the brake controller from the battery that the PO installed. 12v Accessory I tapped into the rear defrost switch, and the ground I ran to the passenger side Dash mount (remove the glove box cubby and look to the right with a flash light, you'll see a bunch of other wires ground there). I'm happy to answer any more questions about the install.

Nice. Looks factory.
However you should install the grill covers for the speakers so you don't puncture them....

yeah I agree more protection would be good. Those plastic grilles do some good though.

I bought one of these bundles as well, great bang for the buck. Nice install, but why not use the factory harness?

Yeh that's kinda similar to what I did with mine. Got the Kenwood H/U and speaker deal, and got some 5.25" speakers for the fronts. I basically made it look as stock as i could.

used the factory door panel grate in the fronts and the rear mesh grille and grate for the rears. You can hardly tell it's aftermarket unless you look inside and see the Kenwood.
