Picnic on Sunday Dec 3

Thanatoz and I are taking our families out for a desert picnic on Sunday. Anyone who's interested is welcome to join us. Note that this is a picnic, not a trail run. We'll be going to either Seven Springs or somewhere along FR42. IF anyone posts up as interested, we'll meet at the Carefree Shell at 7201 E Cave Creek Rd in Cave Creek, AZ. (Cave Creek Road and Scottsdale Road) at 11 AM for an 11:30 pull-out. If no one posts, all meets are off- Thanatoz and I will leave from my house at our leisure. I will also be inviting the local Nissan club folks. We'll be cooking steaks for us, bring your own stuff to throw on the fire, or sammiches if you're gonna be like that.

I will confirm the meet by 10 on Sunday morning if I get interest from the other board.

how was you cookout? we were cut'n a christmas tree in the prescott ntl forest - permit of course. nice to get out.

It was an excellent day, a little chilly but we got a fire started and fixed that. Brought some friends of the wife out in their Mazda MPV (mini van) with their 3 kids, Thanatoz and his 2, and me and wife and our 1. Super thick Costco ribeyes, fresh bread, fresh air, it was quite relaxing. The Seven Springs picnic area was closed off with a large dead tree blocking the driveway, and what looks like a pay kiosk for the area was torn out- not sure if they're remodelling or closing it entirely. The drive in was pretty bleak due to the recent fire, but most of the black stuff is gone and there's some green starting to peek through.

We do this occasionally (usually by the wife's decree) on short notice, so I throw out the invite just in case there's like-minded folks looking for a bit of relaxation and socialization. Maybe we can catch you 'in the mood' next time!

I wasn't sure if we were going to be back in town in time, so I didn't want to say. Good thing too, cuz we didn't roll in until after 11am.
