FINALLY...

After talking to way too many "Independent" car dealers in south florida with unintelligible accents, I finally came across a decent cruiser here in Tennessee. Originally from South FL, it came to TN about 3 years ago. It was traded in on a new Infiniti in Nashville, where I came across it on one of my uncoutable internet searches.

Specs: 2000 Land Cruiser, Black with Tan Leather, 62k dealer maintained (records provided) miles, yada yada yada...

We wanted a 2001/02, but just can't find any for less than $26k and decent miles anywhere around here and I'm hesitant to go into debt for something that I haven't laid my hands on in person.

It has - or should I say HAD - vinly pinstripes on it up until about an hour ago. I dropped a few bens as down payment and they're peeling the stipes and detailing it for delivery.

It's for the wife, but I'll get to sneak it out of the garage from time to time... :grinpimp:

It will end up with the bumpers and trim painted Black along w/ some OEM 18" wheels via eBay along with some matching tint on the front windows.

That is a sweet looking LC. Are you going to paint the wheels black too?

Nice find. I'm looking for a White one with similar specs. Mind if I ask what it set you back?

Congrats. I know you've been looking for a while. Shows that patience eventually pays off.

Nice looking Cruiser, nice year too... :D

Not painting the wheels, but selling them off eventually. I'll pick up a set of OEM 18's from a 04+ on eBay at a good buy and swap these out. I'm just going to paint the bumpers and trim for now.

We're getting it for right at $20k out the door. Taxes here are hellacious at 9.25% (price we pay for no income taxes i guess...), and aren't included in that price. Retial on it is right at $27k.

It's at a Nissan/Infiniti Dealer south of Nashville near Cool Springs, TN. They got it in on Trade-In for a M35.

It's originally a Corporate Lease vehicle in Miami, then made it's way to auction in April 2003 with only 13,247 miles on it. Then it traveled to TN where it was purchased and had 29k on it in May 2004 and 62k on it today.

It's a good find at a NICE price and I'm STOKED!

Great Find! Congratulations! On a long-term vehicle, patience is worth it. It is worthwhile that you knew the product well enough to recognize a great find. Enjoy!

Good job holding off on pulling the trigger until you were satisfied with the right vehicle. I know how hard that is!!!!

Thanks.

I've been looking tenatively for almost a year, and seriously for at least 3-4 months. We've even been discouraged enough to consider other vehicles like an Audi A8L. I'm just so very glad that we were patient enough to hold out to get a good southern vehicle with a clean history, all the right colors/options and at a killer price.

We're planning on going over on Friday and picking it up. I'm already looking for some 18" OEM wheels... :D

Just for kicks, imagine this cruiser w/ OEM 18" wheels instead of the bling-bling 20's, no Yakima, no damage-multiplying brush guard, and that's the direction this one will be headed in very shortly...

either Nitto Terra Grapplers or Dueler REVO's right now. to be honest, i haven't shopped either around in that size...

Sweet. I'm glad you found what you were looking for. You did keep the Runner, right?

Congrats.

Well at least your 4runner is sweet lookin. My wife drives our 2004 SE V8 4runner and I drive the LC. She loves her 4runner :) I love my LC :). Why can't you talk your wife into driving the 4runner?

... cause the runner is lifted and on 305's with an ARB front and custom rear bumper. :grinpimp: she'd rather have something lower and more "refined"...

i also drive 600 miles a week for my commute right now. i have a 32MPG POS accord w/280k miles for that. she only drives 50-60 miles a week for work. i'll be patient and get the cruiser in a few years after this project is over and i'm back to driving only a few miles to work. by then, it'll get some 33's and probably a sahara and a custom rear bumper to match the one on the runner.

Congrats! :)

I really like the 100's in one color too. I've been thinking of painting my 100 all green. I currently have the ARB and Slee bumpers and sliders painted dark gray to match the original trim color. But, after seeing your pics I'm thinking about going all green. I scraped my bumpers and sliders up pretty good in Moab, so a re-paint is in order anyways.

Again congrats on the new 100 and thanks for the ideas.

Not sure what you want to spend, but Toyo make a 275/70/18 now in the AT. takes some bling out of the wheel with the larger sidewall.

NICE! I like the Toyo Open Country AT's - Basically a Nitto and the size is right as well. How much of a MPG loss did you notice w/ the higher sidewall?

I just got them and haven't figured it out yet. I got 13.8 on my first tank with the new tires, but that included a lot of hills and extra weight because I went camping. My second tank was 13.5, but it wasn't a complete fill. I don't know why the second tank was lower because I went back to normal driving. I was averaging 14.6 before and I run premium. I need to figure out the conversion factor. I think it's a 6% difference with the 2 in gain in diameter. If that's right, then my 13.5 would actually be 14.38- right? I know there's a thread somewhere.
