Pic Request: Engine Cover

Hey guys. I need to get a picture of the engine cover. The underside, where the foam blocks are. My cover started rattling and found that the blocks have fallen off. I am going to get some high-temp foam to replace them with, but wanted to know what they looked like first.

I've had the engine cover off for a few months, but the OCD part of me can't stand it any longer.

Here you go. Foam is on PS. There is also a small piece just below the cut out for the filler neck.

Must admit I took mine off in prep for the timing belt/water pump/starter project some months ago and its still waiting to go back on. New hardware and all. One day....
 
Is there any reason to keep this on? I took it off the 3rd or 4th day after I bought the vehicle as I can't find a purpose other than <I don't really have a reason to put here>.
 
Its pretty much cosmetic. Saves you dropping your purse onto a hot engine, but that's about it.

Man, the Grim Deleter ripped into this thread, eh?

AimCOTaco took a shot at me and i shot back so all the banter got nuked.

One of the things the cover seems to do is reduce noise - I've run mine both ways and on seems to be a tad quieter on but i do tend to agree, Toyota put it there for cosmetics.
 
I felt a little bad smashing the engine cover up in pieces... knowing somebody out there is at the dealer paying $300 for a new one.

I don't think I dislike that thing enough to smash it up. It's not that bad, is it?

hoser you should have let me know!! My cover is different to yours coz of the cyclonic airbox and Toyota have pretty much cut out certain parts of it to suit.
Anyway, too late now i guess!!

Thanks, mooooo but I also have the SpressoAIR compressor. I am not particularly attached to the cover. It's just one more thing to take off.
 
Glad someone posted the pic for ya. I still have mine installed and will leave it there until I need the room. I see no reason to remove it until then.
