OK,

This last weekend I replaced factory bulbs with new PIAA bulbs; highbeams, lows, parking, fogs, rear license plate. This was in an effort to match the pure white of my recently mounted PIAA 510's.

I am very pleased with the outcome, no more yellow light and all are brighter in my opinion. Significantly better at night!

They all match nicely. I was having a problemw ith my high/low beams matching my parking lights. Which PIAA did you get?

I decided to use Yellow for my fog lamps on my ARB which look sweet (IMHO)

The PIAA's used where all extreme whites. 9005 highs, 9006 lows and fogs, 168 parking and license plate lights.

Do the parking wedges match the 9005/6? I can't truly tell from the picture what you can see up close.

Are the standard Low Beams the same as the Daytime Driving Lights, or is that a bulb you replaced also?

I also replaced all lights and had issues matching my parking lights / wedges / 168 or 194 bulbs... I looked all over locally and most recently got some superbright LED's that i'm putting in tonight... The PIAA's pictured above do look like a true white light compared to the yellow pictured above... If the LED's I bought don't look good enough maybe I'll just order the PIAA's too... I've tried several bulbs and nothing has looked quite right...

I also put in some LED's and was disappointed that the colors didn't match. Anytime you have different manufacturers or different technologies (standard vs LED), they aren't going to match unless they are from the same supplier who "tunes" them to match. That is my layman opinion.

soberman001,

The parking wedges are close, but show a little more blue tones then the 9005's/9006's (something I like). Actually, depending on your viewing angle there are traces of blue on all bulbs.

On my 100 the daytime running lights are the same bulb as the highbeams not the lows, so 9005's. When the highbeams are on (not shown in photos) the light is pure white and closely matches the 510's in brightness. When only the daytime running lights are on (again the same bulb as the highs), I have noticed that the light is not as white.

Per Piaa customer service all bulbs are the proper match to the PIAA 510 driving lights.

How did you mount the lights?

Greg

The PIAA lights are nice looking, but just way to small in my opinion. They don't go with the size of the vehicle in my opinion. I was looking at light force, but I heard that they're not too good for yellow fog. I want BIG YELLOW FOG LAMPS!!!

Do the PIAA's give the headlight housings a blue tint when the lights are not on?

Answers:

1)The 510 driving lights are mounted on top of the bumper. Installation consisted of drilling (ouch) through two layers of thick plastic. The finished product is very clean looking and solid.

2)While small the projected light is comparable to many of the larger lights and when off the 510's don't jump out at you. That's subjective of course, in the end all that matters is that you like your set up.

3)When off, the 510's do give a blue appearance from different angles. The ones, you most likely see around give a cool yellow and blue appearance when off and are fogs not driving lights like these.

Attached are close ups of the parking light and low beam when on. Notice the slight blue of the parking light. The blue seems to dissipate as you move further away.
Also attached is the 100 with the brights on.
