Does any one have any tips for removing the PCV valve and the grommet that it is housed in on a FJ-62? I thought it would just pull out by hand but not such luck yet.

if it's the same as a fj60 pcv... you have to pull reaaaalllll hard. the gasket gets old and hard. get a new gasket.

Put vice grips on it, put a board under the vice grips for leverage and hit the vice grips with a rubber mallet!! Ain't pretty but works!!

Thanks for the tips! I used the vice grips and the PCV came out but the gromet split in half at the same time. Luckily I was able to fish the bottom half out with needle nose. Since replacing the PCV the engine hesitates at startup for a few seconds and then runs great. Any ideas on why the initial hesitation:hhmm:

Could the hesitation at start-up have to do with the vacuum line not sealing on the new pcv valve? It seems a bit loose.
