Howdy fellas...changing out the PCV on the 80...the top half of the rubber grommet crumbled as I tried to pull it out...the bottom half is still in there and is hard as a rock keeping the metal PCV from pulling out...been trying to pry on it with vice grips, needle nose pliers, screwdriver, etc...no luck so far...no room really to try and cut the rubber grommet off...tried soaking it with silicone...no better...the rubber spins freely around the lower portion of the metal valve...anyone have any more ideas?

I used a vise grip to hold and used a pry bar to pull it out. I used a bent wire to hook the other half of the gromet out of the the hole. Some bits and pieces fell in there but that should not hurt the valvetrain.

May have to pull the valve cover? I've had a couple of 22re's like that and thats what I did.

Thanks Mark...I gave it one more go this morning with vise grips and a hammer and got er' out...what a pain in the butt...

Use a shop vac to get the pieces out

Thanks...did just that along with a pair of needlenose pliers...
