After thinking about it, the bigger display looks better to me too. Although AutoEnginuity does have Bluetooth option for another 130 clams. Now that's cooool.

Thanks for settin up the deal! (how'd ya know my check engine lite came on this weekend?!?!?)

Come on Woodrow....doncha know dem check engine lights is like Samsonite luggage. Everbody's gonna get it sooner or later. :D

Thanks for putting the other product in a separate thread. I too would have liked a pocket PC version, but I want to be able to keep an eye on the gauges as I go go down the road...ain't happening on my pocket PC.

I think each product has its own pros and cons...but I can tell you Brian Palmer is a nice guy and is very interested in helping us with this.

I like. :D Looks very cool and user friendly for people of slow intellect such as myself. Quick question though, it has often been discussed in 80's tech that alot of the sensors are not that accurately placed to give true readings as to what is going on in the engine(i.e. coolant temp). If one was to place new sensors at multiple locations in a given system would this software support such a mod?

Refugly, I wonder if one could add an error correction for such parameters..

TY

It seems very user friendly compared to some of the others I evaluated. The system is designed to take all of the OBD2 available data streams and present them on screen. The 80s with OBD2 have 14 data streams (shown at the top of this thread on the white chart. There are other sensors on the 80 reporting to the ECU but Palmer has yet to decipher them.....mainly because each vehicle manufacturer uses a different scheme and they are tedious to decode. (FYI>>if anyone has any Toyota Mode 22 decoding info, get with me offline so we can get it to Brian).

Regarding reffug's question, unless the signal is in the OBD/ECU data stream, this system has no way of reading it. I agree that the sensor accuracy is any issue, but I think I am much closer to reality with this setup compared to the OEM dash gauge.

Are there any updates to the Palmer software or was it decided that the sensors/codes it couldn't read were not necessary? So far I am leaning towards the Autoenginuity PC based software but I would like to hear some more recent discussion. Has anyone found any new products that are worth a look?
