I have a leaking heater core in a 2000 Nissan Pathfinder. With absolutely no need for a heater, can it be bypassed without any problems? I am thinking just cut the lines at the firewall, flare fittings to join the lines under the hood. It would save from buying the parts and also probably a complete day changing the stupid thing out as it is buried DEEEEP in the dash. Thanks.

Yes, you can by-pass as long as you do put in a fitting to continue the flow. Don't just block off the ports, it needs to flow for head and block cooling.
