my pass side floor is soaked...a clogged sunroof drain maybe?.....
any clues?....
also with a 92 fj80 with 176k on her, what should I expect to go or need replacing?
any help appreciated....thanx shaun

it could be a heater pipe failure, but with the rain i would look at the sunroof drain tubes 1st. open sun roof in the front right corner you will see a opening where water drains.
open the passenger door, lift up on the door jam (plastic trim ) from the rear there should be 3 little plastic clips that hold it in place, once they come loose then gently pull the trim towards the rear the trim panel which is also the kick panel will come out (Note: there might be a clip under the dash where the kickpanel touches the firewall, I can't remember so you might want to look before you gently pull the trim panel towards the rear, since i don't remember). now lift up your carpet and remove any standing water.
Now gently pour about a cup of water down the sunroof tube and see if it goes to the floor or spills out underneath the cruiser. if water falls to the ground then most likely your windshield gasket is leaking.

only had it a few months...i believe it may have been leaking before i got it.....dont think its the heater, definitely not an anti freeze smell....

here too with all the rain..........ssssooooooaaaaaakkkkeeeeedddd and smelly :(

These guys have you on the right track and eric provided solid advice/analysis
You can also entertain your neighbors by sitting inside and having someone hose down the truck concentrating on winshield and sunroof while you hang out inside and watch

mine is the windshield gasket. look in the lower corners of the windshield inside above the dash for water puddling in the gasket corners, or if it has dried already then it will leave a sediment stain. If you have it resealed or replaced professionally then insist they do it the right way, no matter how many glasses they say they have replaced. Mr. T is specific in the gasket being glued to the glass AND the frame.

firetruck41 has a good write-up on resealing with roofing urethane

While your checking sunroof drains might as well check the rears too. There are 4 sunroof drains, one in each corner. Weed Eater line works great for cleaning these out. Use about a 6' section to run it through the drains to clear.

as well and not so much related to the wet floor but there are 6 rocker panel "slit" drains along the pinch weld at the bottom edge of the rocker. A zip tie is great for clearing these; just dont be underneath when you clear the drain ;)

good info Jason.

doesnt seem to be the sunroof....it drains well...i could see the slightest bit at the bottom of the windshield on the gasket....but not even a drops worth.......but....the seam on the headliner above the osh*t handle is wet...but just the seam....i cant find it leaking down....but had a good half inch of water in the floor gutter......popped out the plug to drain it...

thanx for the help guys

water in the floor gutter sounds like the windshield leak in my experience. Leaks in the corner and runs down the side of the dash and then on down the kickpanel to the floor and pools in the channel you found. Caution, driver side has a large wiring bundle running in that channel that is best not to sit in water. As well behind the kick panel are several electrical wires and connectors.

water on the a piller by the grab handle sounds like a broken or dislodged sunroof drain. Not as common but I have seen a few instances on mud.
