The passenger seat will not slide back or forth on the right track. The seat pivots, since the right side does not move but the left track does. I took the seat out and noticed that the cable that drives the screw on the right track was broken. I called CDan for the part but you have to order the whole seat track with all the motors at a cost of $1,088.00. I just need a new cable. CDan told me that I could use the seat track out of a 98'-02' Land Cruiser. I found some for a 98' and 00' LX470 on car-parts.com but forgot to ask CDan if they would work in the Cruiser. Will the passenger seat track out of the LX470 fit the Land Cruiser?

I can move the seat back and forth with a 12mm socket on my cordless drill if I connect it to the screw drive on the front of the right seat track but I have to hold the switch down on the seat to move the left side at the same time.

This is the second thing that broke in the last 8 months. The cable inside the driver's door that connects to the inside door handle snapped and I could only open the door from the outside. I had to order the whole assembly even though it was a simple cable.

i dont see why the cable from a 98-03 tlc, wouldnt work on a 99 lexus 470

Sounds like a solution! Just keep a drill and inverter in the glove compartment. You'll be driving anyway so it won't bother you and it'll give your passenger something to do.

I think the Lexus parts should work fine. 95% of the parts are the same. Make sure you get a 100% refund agreement before purchasing so you are only out the shipping if it's the wrong part. Same thing happened to my Camry and the dealer replaced the entire seat under warranty. $1500 or so.
