Hello folks. I am going tackle an OME suspension job on my 89 FJ62. OME is my only choice IMO.

Other than the springs, shocks and steering stabilized; what other stuff would you recommend?

I am looking to get 2.5-3.0 inches of lift and a much better ride on and off road. What weight? Medium or Heavy Springs?

I live west of Houston and was considering purchasing everything from 4 Wheel Parts. Do you recommend buying from somewhere else?

Your advice is much appreciated.

Jim

New Bushings, ubolts, and 33's!!

Shop around before you buy there. You might be able to find a good deal somewhere else.

I would go for a kit which has it all too. You need sway bar extensions and little stuff which is all includes in a kit. Also I would upgrade your flex brake lines to the SS but it is not required for the lift.

I would at the very least get some longer brake lines, mine were real tight at full droop before i put on the SS lines. If youre gonna take the time to do that, you should definitly put in stainless imho. I didnt think 4wheelparts sold OME stuff, i got tires from there though, real cheap installed/balanced.

I'd buy from one of the dedicated cruiser shops...cruiseroutfitters, sor, MAF, daviddearborn, etc. They'll make sure you get everything you need...

List includes (I think)
springs
shackles & pins + bushings
u-bolts
shocks + bushings
steering stabilizer
longer brake lines

33 tires are perfect for this lift. If you go bigger than 9.50 or 10.50 wide, you'll need wider wheels too.

The only negative to this lift/tire/wheel combo is that you'll get cramps in your face from grinning so much.
