Hey guys! I'm new here. I came at the advice of some other LC folks. Here's the deal:

I am in Jacksonville, FL. I bought a 2001 Land Cruiser out of Atlanta. I sent my father in law for a test drive and it drove great. I had a friend drive it down to Florida and it gave him no issues at all! Of course it didn't. It was a Cruiser with 120k miles. Thing is, the first time I drove it, it started rocking back and forth. Took it to the shop and another shop and the frame is not worth saving. Drivetrain is great. Interior is fantastic and has the third row. Obviously, there is rust, so parts under the car are compromised but the parts under the hood are still good. I am obviously trying to recoup as much as I can. I guess I'm trying to gauge interest/see if anyone has any advice on where my best bet would be for selling and what I might be able to ask. I've been told I could probably get $4-5k depending on who's looking. Let me know what you think or if you have any interest. Thanks!

Welcome. I think your best bet would be to get under there and get some decent pictures of the frame and undercarriage. That's what everyone is gonna want to see. Hard to believe a 2001 could be rusted enough to create the rocking that you felt.

Good luck.

Frame pictures of the reason for condemning the vehicle. The rest of the body pictures look great.

Unfortunately looks identical to a LC that I looked at in Jax last year. Owner was gunna put it up for auction since he couldn't sell it outright. Badly rusted frame, some shady dealer sold it to him and had painted over all the rust. Swaybar rusted off the rear axel. Looks and sounds very similar

That's me. I was having a hard time parting with it. Wanted to exhaust all options to try to save it. I'm ready to move on now. I'll try to get some pics of the rust, but like Cola said, the frame is shot.
