Just got in a 78 FJ40 rusty tub, missing jumpseats and instrument cluster. All else seems to be there, it's unmolested under the hood, everything is there including the smog pump and smog components. I'll list the things I can think of, if there's anything else you are specifically interested in let me know. This thing hasn't run in awhile- and I haven't even tried to get it running. Owner drove it down here from Alaska fourteen years ago and when it got rusty just parked it. He told me it was running fine when parked.

Best way to make contact is to email me at shmukter@pa.metrocast. I've been working all the time lately and am just now starting to get caught up. Bigger items (engine block, doors, roof) pickup only in northeast PA. Will ship the smaller items at buyer's expense. Thanks, Shmukster

Emailed you about the trans hump and gas tank cover

78 parts

I need the two rear corner reflectors. How much shipped to 95665 if you have them?
Thanks

Gary, I need the front floor mat cover. Do you have any pics?

Interested in parts

I'll PM you, but need various parts for tire carrier, seat brackets, and the coveted dash pad if you have one!

I couldn't get the e-mail to work.

Jeff

Would you happen to have the side window defroster setup from the floor mounted heater, to the dash mounted defrosters that blow on the side windows? Needs to be in very good condition. I also pm'ed you.

Parting FJ40

Guys- sorry for not getting back to anyone- I was away on work last week and not accessible to a computer. Wife and girls took over my garage for their annual garage sale this weekend, too- I am hopeful to be able to get the 40 into the garage tomorrow and get answers and photos for everyone who has inquired. Should be able to get back to everyone by Thursday of this week at the latest. My correct email address is shmukter@pa.metrocast.net. Thanks, and sorry again for the delayed response. Gary S (Shmukster)

general reply

I'll try to get a reply out here with some quick answers about some of the parts you've asked about. I believe the top and doors are sold to a fellow from NY- he's supposed to come get 'em next weekend. The birfs are probably perfect- this truck looks to have not been offroaded- small tires, no scuffs underneath. The bezel is till there and still available as are the aprons. The hood has rust underneath it but no rust through anywhere. It doesn't seem to be dented anywhere and still ahs the windsheild rest bumpers and hood propr rod attached. The transmission hump and gas tank cover look good- from what I can see without having removed the passenger seat. Rob, the front mat looks good, too as far as I can see. The spare tire carrier is in very good shape and all the accessories are there- the U shaped bumper, latch, etc. The carrier swings open and closed easily and latches as it should. The dashpad is nice but there is a platic piece glued to it. I have another very nice dash pad to sell, however, came from a 77 FJ40. The seats are in good shape although as usual the upholstery on the driver seat is split at the seams. The frames and stuff for the seats look good and the seats fold forward the way they should. I believe my price for the seats is downright cheap. What else........the visors are spoken and paid for. With any luck the truck will undego disassembyl starting Tuesday afternoon. Hope this helps and as I get the 40 into the garage and start getting it aprt I can send photos. Thanks for your patience. Gary S

Are the side window defrosters and ducts still available?

Dave

Side window defrosters still available

Yes they are. Removed them today as a matter of fact and they are excellent. The outets have the round screw hole covers, screws included, and tubing from main defrot to side outlets is excellent. Both sides complete $31 plus shipping, probably around $9. Let me know Gary S
