Hi, do you know a toyota part number for resistor in super glow system? ( 3b motor at 24v )

thx

Ok, I will informe you in better case.
do you know a normal glow plug part number ?
19850-68040 or 19850-68060 ?

Unfortunately, I really think it’s “unobtainium” by now.
I have installed a switch to manually preglow by now …

It's only there to drop the voltage for the 'after glow' of the super glow system, so you could replace it with a generic resistor if you know what you're doing. Leave the old resistor in the manifold to keep it sealed.

Thanks for your insight.
Are you sure it’s only for the after-glow, not also dropping the voltage in the normal/pre-glow?
Also it heats up the air in the manifold a bit which helps to cold start in cold temperatures- something I am noticing now that I don’t have it anymore.

To keep it plugged makes sense, it’s what I did as well.

My understanding is that it is used only in the 5 or 6 V (in a 12 V system, I don't know the figure in a 24 V system) afterglow, but you could check a wiring diagram.

I don't think it is used in the initial phase of glowing (pre-start) so would not be heating up the air. Also, if you look at the later matrix type heaters (I have one in my 15B) they have a far larger surface area and are also positioned to warm the air going to all cylinders. The resistor in the 3B manifold is set to one side (I have a similar system in my Hilux) and is really not going to usefully heat up any air. So even if it was warm pre-start, I don't for a moment believe it would make any significant difference to starting.
