Parker CO New Year's event

Hey we met a guy last night that said there was an event on Monday in Parker. I can't find any info on the site here...anyone know of this event or where I should look?

any more detail? what kind of guy? what kind of event? rising sun has a new year's day run every year. could that be the event? did they guy work for whomever is hosting the event?
