That's just it, it is never the communities decision, just a very small group of wealthy people in the town government. Everytime a sub-division goes in, the planning commity approved it, not the citizens.

This is sad news. I'm glad I was able to attend CMCC once there.

Thats a good point about it being a selcet few who makes the decision. Like i said it still sucks its not going to be around but money makes the world go round.

Yeah, talked with Kyle personally. It's the bum's rush they got hammered with, for sure.

Lame is a pathetic understatement.

Hopefully, just hopefully they will rebound and find another spot.

Not to sound like too much of a conspiracy theorist............

Anyone have an idea how long it takes for an airport to get completely funded, designed, permitted (local, state and federal ), redesigned and finally go to construction? Paragon could have easily operated on that property for another good 3 to 5 years. Something else was afoot. Bottom line is that for whatever reason, the landowner no longer wanted them there.

Odds on Hazleton ever getting an airport? Within 20 years? 10? 5?

I think it boiled down to the land couldn't be sold until his lease was dissolved. Owner wants his money NOW.

What is wrong with keeping a town small????? Around here all we hear is that we have to improve tourism and get more people to move here. We keep building high end housing and are pushing the little man out and they are who built this place. I live on 106 acres of family land, if I didn't have that I would be screwed since any availible land is priced 5 times more than it's value. And this year our tax assements jumped from 10k acre to 90k an acre. This is going to force alot of people to sell and move away. We have no country side anymore, it is all being paved and built on. Enough is Enough!!!!

Being only about 30 miles up the road from you and watching the exact same thing happen to the area I grew up in I couldn't agree more.
