Wanted PANHARD BAR

Just an FYI, I went through the same search for the last year or so. When they do come up here, they're usually gone in a matter of hours.

I tried to shave some costs by ordering some no name import ones off Ebay, that were shipped out of Malaysia, from a seller called JDM-Motorparts. These were about HALF the cost of other options ($250 for both bars).

Well, the bars themselves didn't look too bad. Both were solid bar stock with threaded sections welded in the middle and a large hex threaded sleeve (think 12" long nut with both LH & RH threads for adjustment on the Cruiser). The welds (where the threaded sections mated to the bars) looked good, appearing to be either laser welds or machine welds (all were slim with deep penetration and consistent); except for one small 3/16" section that wasn't fully welded. I thought it'd be OK; if necessary, I'd just re-weld that one myself. The front panhard even had all the correct bends to clear the front diff on the LHD US models. So they bolted right up rather quickly.

After a couple of weeks driving with these, I began to notice a "CLUNK" when turning. After investigation, I found the rubber bushings used in the panhards are not stiff enough and are allowing the panhard to shift in the mount until the bushing eye contacts the mounting bracket.

I've attempted to contact the seller to discuss the problem, and I'm not sure if it's a breakdown in translation between languages or they're just giving me the run around; but as of now I would NOT recommend these to ANYONE.

As of our last communication, they want ME to arrange to ship them back to Malaysia for a refund.

Using the same panhard, Raise the rear axle mount and center it. You can also cut and sleeve.
For the front, I opted to cut and sleeve as it was way quicker, also considering I am doing a 3 link soon.

Works perfect !
