I'm driving down to Palm Springs next week and am hoping to get out on some 'easy' trails... can anyone tell me what the best 'california' club is to post on?

I'd like to actually get off road and have a bit of fun, but I won't have all my recovery/repair gear with me, so nothing too aggressive. However it would be nice to go out with someone for more than driving back roads.

Any information appreciated!

Thanks!

I am not aware of any club runs next week... You may want to try posting on the So Cal 80's or Sand Diego Cruiser's pages. The Truckhaven Hills are not too far and is a great place to wheel. If you can't find anyone to wheel with then you may want to consider driving down to Anza Borrego State Park for some sightseeing. Check in at the visitor center for a map and some trail suggestions...

Thank you! I'll check it out, I'm down there until November 4th, and should be able to spend a couple days scouting around.

I do believe it is still unlawful to offroad in Riverside County. So if you do, head straight out away from any main roads, out of sight from the road. The coppers won't mess with you if you are far enough out, and obviously if they can't see you. There is some minor wheeling in Box Canyon. Head north on Dillon Road from the 10 freeway. Once you pass over the canal you will be surrounded by desert. Desert with some very sandy and soft conditions. I can't recall the street that leads to Box Canyon, but can find out if need be.
