I have no idea what this part is called but it's the little metal strip between the small glass and and rest of the window on the rear door. I want to paint it as mine has some surface rust. Why weren't these things painted from the factory? Any tips on painting it? Just tape around it and spray?

What do you have? Yours is bare metal? Not seen that on any cruiser I've owned...

Yup, it was bare metal. That or a grayish/silver metal colored finish of some sort. It has now been sanded and painted low gloss black.
