What did you use for prep solution?

I used "Total Prep" spray. It comes in a blue can with a white top. Works really well.


Cost is minimal for good results. About $6-9.


One can goes a long way.

I'm thinking about doing this since it will be a hell of a lot cheaper than powder coating and it will be my second set of wheels. How many coats of paint did you use?

anthonycds - what kind of matte did you use over the VHT paint - I really like the ways yours turned out

Jamomac, with how dull the VHT turned out after fully drying, I applied semi gloss for the satin finish which yielded the look I was aiming for. IDK how Rustoleum Matte Finish would've looked though. Either way I'm pleased.
