Painting Tailgate Lettering

I am going to paint the "Toyota" lettering on my tailgate red as it was originally.

Any guidance on the best method to use?

I think I might bugger the job if I try and free-hand it with a brush. Dense foam roller?

I think the original colour is white. Same as bezel and roof.

And I have often thought how to paint it, as I will need to eventually. I was thinking a dense foam roller as well.

That's a cherry looking tailgate you got there too.

I'm trying to find a photo I took when I first got the truck. I'm 98% sure that it was the original paint and that the lettering was red. All else was as you describe, white top & bezel.

I'll see what I can dig up tonight.
