I love my new look of my blacked out grill, side vents, and headlight bezels. i was thinking of painting my bumper.
what are my options?
would a rhino-coat or equal be better than, say, a flat black like the grill.
also, adhersion is an issue.
I wish iron pig had a front bumper!!!!!
hammer

i just rhino lined the sides and both bumpers on my stock 87 fj60. The bumpers were kind of rusted on the back so I went ahead and did it. I took a very abrasive grinding wheel/rust remover wheel from wal-mart and went at it. It would be nearly impossible to remove the chrome so just a good grinding does the trick......No peeling yet! Seems to work good and was pretty cheap. Not to mention really looks good and updated.

also over chrome try not to leave any edges. coat the whole thing to keep from flaking just in case. i guess if worse comes to worse and it fails its an excuse for a new one.
but if you do any trails i really dont think it will hold(what with trees and/or rocks and stuff scratching it) but i have never tried it
