though i would like to have a new paint job for my fading red 60, it just dont make sense, givin the periodic rust issues that pop up.I do consider myself lucky, though, to be an east coaster with as littel rust as i do have.
anyway....
some new rust spots have popped up along the bottom of the doors. easy fix, both insode and out. trouble is, i will never match the paint with a rattlecan, due to the fading.
i have seen quite a few rigs here with the bottom of the truck painted ( coated) with one of the Linex style materials. Durabeck, and some others.
what are your thoughts?
what kind of surface prep needs to be done, orr should i just rattle can it the best i can ?
Also. do those coatings give it a better bit of protection?
