dropped the 40 off at Earl Scheib today, said F it and got an el cheapo paint job, $650 for everything, which is not bad, just could not stand spending too much $$ on a trail truck paint job. They are not straightening everything, just the major dents and then painting it. Hopefully it will look decent.

Hopefully I will get it back together in the next couple weeks. Then I will post up some pics and want to plan a run up to big bear here soon.

Noah,

Is the tub still on the frame or did you separate it and use a dolly for the tub? I am about ready to do the same thing, but I am taking just the tub to them to paint.

I drove the truck there, first I stripped the paint down to bare metal and took off most everything on it, for that price they are also painting a bunch of little stuff I brought them, brackets and such and the rear doors, the maaco in escondido wanted $3k to do the paint job! the one in temecula wasn't much better as I remember when I quoted them a few months back, the maaco in oceanside also was expensive ($1500) but they are out of biz now.....

a couple pics before I sent it there, spent all week scraping paint, not fun, I hate any sort of bodywork, but it needed to be done and will assure that however crappy the paintjob it should stick ok as long as they sand the metal a bit, comes with a 6 year warranty so......

Noah,

man I could have brought the redneck paint boot over and we could have sprayed that thing in your driveway- you were 90% done. .

But- I understand your reasoning- I get waaaay tooo high after spraying:D.

Big Bear- How about Dusy?;)

hey Tim, yeah, I struggled with having someone actually do something for me, I am a total do it yourselfer at heart, but must admit, paying to have something done is kinda nice, hopefully it comes out decent, my expectations are set low so....., plus I have a little one here and I am not so keen on spraying a bunch of paint around, even when I do a little rattle can and the fumes carry a bit my wife freaks out.

dusy is a real possibility, let's talk, I would love to get out there, but we need to get a crew of at least a couple people to go.

Noah

Like Tim said, you did the hardest part yourself, look forward to seeing it when you get it back together.

You're gonna be so stoked to get it all back together. Sorry I didn't get up there to help you with a little sanding, just got back into the country yesterday. Let me know if you need a helping hand with the reassembly.

So how's it looking, lets see some pics dude.

will get to it soon you fags.....

want to get it all back together first, had to take one of the doors back as they missed a spot, but no biggie, for a cheapo paint job I am happy. It was cheap enough that if I scratch/dent it no biggie.

Tim, Geared 4 fun is doing a trip up near the dusy, swamp lake 8/19-23rd, leaving wed night probably, let me know if you or anyone else are interesed.
