Paint job from body shop

Very politely asked if manager could look at vehicle. He couldn’t see any issues in the sunlight. seemed frustrated with me, “we will sand it, but you don’t ever re clear orange peel”
Hopefully I still have clear coat left when they are finished

And what was the final outcome of your paint job?

They sanded the badly orange peeled areas, leaving a nice trail of circular tooling marks in the clear. It seems as though this shop focuses on speed rather than quality. I’m skeptical that anything beyond one thin coat of clear was ever applied by this shop, as I’ve now developed multiple chips down to the primer within 6 months. A few on the side view mirror covers and on the front bumper, just from normal highway driving. No gravel trucks, not following closely behind other vehicles.

Overall I would rate my experience 3/10. My take away lesson is that body work is a nightmare to deal with, and in 2025 no one cares about your vehicle. Shops will put a brand new apprentice on your vehicle. They don’t care. Just hope you never need any sort of paint work.

Leave a google review, etc so at least some potential customers will steer clear. I don’t know what other options (legal, etc) there are as recourse, but there should be consequences for this complete sh*t execution of what should’ve been a simple fix.

Agreed. I think we are all too hesitant to name shops here.
As long as it’s just facts, it should be shared.
