Heading out to Lake Havasu next weekend (by way of Las Vegas -- woo hoo!!). Would like to hit a few trails in the area, however will be traveling solo and in a bone stock truck (except for sliders). As in stock down to the Bridgestone Dueler HTs .

Any thoughts on what's in the area that would be doable in a stock Hundy? I'd like to check out Mohave Road outside of Searchlight. What to bring (other than the basics and plenty of water)? Thanks in advance.

Not in az but I just ran the Mohave rd from bullhead area to Barstow area in a stock 100 no problem. The western half was the most scenic. I dont recommend offloading alone but besides water you should always carry at least 5 gallons of gas in a gas can

SIDEWINDERS Desert Run 2012 this w/e. 16-19th. Just saw this now. Maybe next year. Sidewinders 4-Wheel Club

The Mojave Road is cool. The western portion can be very sandy and may be a problem. A Soda Lake can be a full quagmire. East of Soda Lake is no sweat.

Buy this book if you do go.

Mojave Desert Heritage & Cultural Association click on publications, then on Mojave Road Guide. It has GPS points now, plus the history.

Just got back last weekend. Can't wait to go back and explore the area. Other than the cold and rain had a great time. Drove our 5 series out instead -- but saved a bunch of gas money and got places a lot faster.
