Ihave what seems to me as a major problem I have a 1987 land cruser with a 2H engine. Just spent several months getting engine rebuilt. Engine sounded good so I started home about 10 miles down the road notesed real low oil pressure pulled in to a gas station and the oil pressure droped to zero. To far to go back so went 2-3 miles to the closest mechanic witl little or no oil pressure showing but still sounding good. Any buddy ever have this problem if so what was there outcome.

It could be as simple as a faulty oil pressure sender, or the oil pump may be clogged with cleaning media from the rebuild, I've seen all kinds of scenario's... Your best bet is to manually check oil pressure before going any further

Thank you for your reply. Will have a freind try and locate a manual guage. Problem is i live in panama and rely on some one to interpate for me.

the oil pressure gauge read almost zero when i was takin my unturboed 2H up long steap hills, because the oil became hotter and more viscous (i run 0-40 in cold norway). The pressure gauge is known for not being the most accurate out there, as long as you have some movement on the instrument you are safe. The oil pressure switch should make the edic shut down your engine if you loose all pressure.

The 2H has a well known problem of the relif valve getting jammed in the housing. The only repir for it is to put in an oversize valve. Or you could have the same problem I did, I had all the teeth shear on the oil pump drive gear.
