I've been lurking on the site for a while now and going through the mods that I have to do to make my hundie my own and one of the things that I needed was a brake controller. My LC came with the four pin trailer light connector but I needed the 7 pin with a controller. I have watched the threads on where to locate it and which controller to get and my path concluded with a Tekonsha P3 controller located in the ash tray, wiring the black and white wires to the battery, with the red to the cool side of the brake switch and running a new blue brake wire inside along the floor step covers and out by the sunroof drain in the rear drivers quarter panel. While most of it has been shown before, I went a little different with the dash install as I removed the ashtray tan cover (2 screws), and used me dremel to cut off the front of the ash tray and a rear portion for the wire. I then drilled two holes in the sides to use the controller mounting holes and supplied screws and can now slide the controller out like an ashtray. If I so desire, I can locate another ashtray back portion, screw on the faceplate and return it to its original condition. It fit's a little tight, depth wise, but it works fine.
One thing that I could not get over was the extremely short wires to the brake switch that precluded getting my large fat-fingered hands up there to tap the wire. So I surmised that the green/white wire had to go back to the brake lights somewhere, located it in the side panel and tapped it there. I used my tester to make sure that the wire went hot when the brake pedal was pressed. It works like a charm and si very easily accessible.
I hope that this info helps some other 100 owners as you all have helped me...so far.
Here are some pics.
